In every magazine there's always a general layout for the contents page. XXL is simplistic yet highly effective it also contains more information and detail compared to other magazines like vibe. XXL has its own unique way of nameing there contents page instead of being like every other magazine, they've called it 'THE A-SIDE' which is unique because only they have something like that.The features coloumn is located on te left side and the main image iks to the right side, it consits of a mid shoot of two famous hip-hop artists: 50 cent and soulja boy.
The colour scheme used is very minimalstic , this makes the magazine look more simple and music focused
A good start Sephora, cover and one contents page of XXL. XXL has two contents pages though and you need to analyse a DPS too and then a second magazine of a similar genre.
ReplyDeletePlease add detail to your analysis, a great start with the cover image and masthead, what about the coverlines and layout? Link to genre and target audience. Contents page - A side and B side actually refer to records/tapes that have two sides and analysing the images and content listed and why would be helpful.
